A Newry company claims to be revolutionising the vending machine market by providing business owners with a money-saving alternative to a traditional staff canteen.Hey! Vending, part of the Hey! Group, has created an automated canteen facility which has already saved one customer almost £30,000 a year on staff canteen costs.

The facility offers 24-hour access to an upmarket range of quality products like porridge, smoothies, bean-to-cup coffee and fresh sandwiches supplied daily from Deli Lites. The unit is installed free of charge, custom-made to fit in the allocated space and serviced up to three time a week – making it desirable to business owners trying to keep costs to a minimum without compromising on quality for staff.

The Hey! Group was founded two years ago by Garrett O’Hare (21) and the vending arm of the business is proving to be the jewel in the company’s crown. “Hey! Vending is a lucrative part of our business because we have identified a need and can offer a quality cost-effective solution,” Mr O’Hare said. “No other vending company in Ireland offers our level of service and this stands us apart from our competitors – ensuring our customers remain loyal.” “We work with Deli Lites to be competitive by price matching with other supermarkets in the area.  We enlist the help of HR managers to ensure we select products staff actually want – for example we are introducing a new Polish range in a Dungannon factory later this year.”

Although factory owners are the company’s main customers, shopping centres, gyms and cinemas have also signed up. The company is now also finalising work on Hey! Caffe, a smaller self contained vending unit aimed at hairdressers or beauticians and which will be ready for sale by the autumn.

Hey! Vending have been celebrating tremendous growth over the passed number of months having been awarded contracts to supply automated vending facilities for three of Northern Ireland’s largest organisations. In January, we opened the doors to a custom- built automated canteen facility at Westland Horticulture’s Dungannon site. Following this, similar solutions were set up at the Glen Dimplex factory in Newry as well as Delilites sandwich company head quarters in Warrenpoint; And it doesn’t stop there as Hey! Vending have been awarded a contract in recent weeks to design and build an automated canteen facility at Linden Foods in Dungannon.

2010 has already been an astronomical year for the Hey Group with the launch of our new Irish distribution division and the announcement of an exciting contract to distribute an American energy drink, known as Roaring Lion, in the Republic of Ireland.

Roaring Lion is quickly becoming a market leader throughout the world with significant market share in seven different countries and a master plan to become a world leader over the next five years. Only just released in the UK last year, Roaring Lion has already claimed 5% of the on trade energy drink market and in Northern Ireland, Roaring Lion is taking the industry by storm and has claimed contracts with some of the leading night life outlets.

Over the passed number of weeks our team have been out on the road promoting and selling this fantastic product and we truly believe that this new venture will be ‘a roaring success’.
